WSF was founded in 2015 by American Combat Veterans and surfers on Folly Beach, South Carolina. The organization's mission is to "empower Veterans to heal, connect, and thrive" through the power of surfing.
WSF's surf therapy program is the foundation of the organization's work. The program is designed to help Veterans overcome the challenges they face as a result of their service, such as PTSD, moral injury, survivor's guilt, and TBI.
