Warrior Surf Foundation

Warrior Surf Foundation

The Warrior Surf Foundation (WSF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides free surf therapy, wellness coaching, yoga, and community to Veterans struggling with PTSD, anxiety, depression, transition issues, and other mental health issues.

WSF was founded in 2015 by American Combat Veterans and surfers on Folly Beach, South Carolina. The organization's mission is to "empower Veterans to heal, connect, and thrive" through the power of surfing.

WSF's surf therapy program is the foundation of the organization's work. The program is designed to help Veterans overcome the challenges they face as a result of their service, such as PTSD, moral injury, survivor's guilt, and TBI.

Surf therapy is a unique and effective form of therapy that combines the physical and mental benefits of surfing with the support of a community of fellow Veterans. Surfing has been shown to reduce stress, improve mood, and boost self-confidence. It can also help Veterans to improve their physical fitness and coordination.

WSF's surf therapy program is open to all Veterans and active service members, regardless of their surfing experience or ability level. The program is taught by experienced and qualified surf instructors who are also Veterans or military spouses.

In addition to surf therapy, WSF also offers a variety of other programs and services to Veterans and their families, including:

  • Wellness coaching
  • Yoga classes
  • Community events
  • Support groups
  • Family programs

WSF is committed to providing Veterans with the support and resources they need to heal and thrive. The organization's programs and services are free to all Veterans and their families.
